@thehealthyishdish: Help a mom out. I’m desperate to have some free time back. Plz don’t tell me a “nap time routine”. I’ve tried all the things. I’ve even tried the little jostle at the 25 minute mark to disrupt the sleep cycle and reset it. I’ve tried feeding him to sleep and then transferring. He wakes immediately upon transfer every single time. #highneedsbaby #naps #7monthsold #firsttimemom #contactnap
Literally just kept putting him in there are rescuing it when I could starting at 5 months. Wasn’t doing “consistent” 45min + naps until about 7 months

Sooo valid. This is how my first was, tense and particular (he’s 3 and still this way 🤪). I was losing my mind desperate for nap time to work too. I feel like I tried everything. With my second I gave up and baby wore her🥲 just please please know it’s not something you’re doing or not doing, it’s hard and once you think you have it figured out they change 🥲

don’t get him as soon as he wakes. give him time to try to go back to sleep on his own. if he’s use to rescuing that’s what he’ll expect. google image search “crib hour nap training” & try to follow that.

Keep putting him in there and keep putting him back down when he wakes up and you get him back to sleep instead of holding him. He will eventually get used to it I promise. You just gotta be consistent

We did all contact naps from 4-6 months. He would put himself to sleep at night very well. Once he turned 6 mos I was in your shoes. I wanted someI just decided to start a simple routine and stuck by it and put him down.

What is the difference in situation of nighttime vs day naps? Is he being swaddled at night and not during the day? Too much light or noise? I know everyone says don't tip toe around your baby make noise. Generally agree with that idea but not every baby tolerates that either.

It won’t always be this way either and I know that’s easy for me to say, that it’s just a season and you’ll have your time again. But you will. Try to take some pressure off yourself, you’re doing amazing ❤️

No suggestions cause I’m in the exact same boat as you. My girl will nap for 40 minutes or less in her bassinet and it’s only enough time to unload and reload the dishwasher or throw something together for dinner if I’m lucky 🥲 She will nap for 2 hours on me though. I mean I’m getting lots of time for reading and TikTok so that’s cool but like, I miss being able to take a nice long shower or actually enjoy a meal and not feel like I’m rushing through everything as fast as I can before she wakes up😅

Sleep training helped a lot for us! Just stay consistent with putting him in his crib for every nap and it will eventually click! Mine both started napping 2ish hour stretches around 7 months.

super normal for that length of nap at that age. they do extend as the get older! when you get down to 2 naps a day is when you will see lengthier naps

Just practiced and time. Baby took took 2 crib naps that were usually only 30-45mins. Last nap, contact. That went on till like 5 months then the just began lengthening the first nap! I just had to accept short naps were just a think till she got older.

It takes time. I feel like most babies don’t really do long crib naps until 6/7 months old 🤷🏻♀️just keep trying, rescue naps if you can, otherwise just carry on and do another nap when they’re tired. It’s easy to get lost in wake windows or the “your baby should be on X many naps/day by this age” stuff and it’s just not true. When baby is showing they’re sleeping put them down. If they take 6 naps a day because they are having short naps, so be it. Longer naps will happen
