#CAITLYN + #JAYCE I think what makes them especially painful is that Caitlyn and Jayce represent this tiny piece of the old Piltover that could have remained intact if only they knew from the start how cruel the world really was. Before everything becomes so horribly complicated, before Jayce starts carrying the weight of Viktor, of the Hextech, the council, and the entire future of Piltover on his back. Before Caitlyn gets swallowed by grief and rage and becomes increasingly willing to compromise pieces of herself to achieve the version of herself she think her mother wanted. They're both people who start out believing, in different ways, that they can fix things. They were literally Piltover's HOPE. But then life showed them that sometimes you can't just fix things, and that in their eyes the world was way softer that how it really was. Jayce gets to the point where he's seen too much to believe in the uncomplicated dream anymore. Caitlyn gets to the point where her grief has changed what “justice” means to her. Somewhere along the way, those two bright, stubborn, fundamentally hopeful people become strangers to versions of themselves that the other person would have recognized, yet the sibling dynamic remains underneath it all, and i'm so disappointed that in the end their bond was ruined and sidelined like that. Caitlyn never had the chance to mourn him as well. I noticed that Arcane doesn't really destroy relationships by making people stop loving each other, and doesn't matter the type of relationship. Sometimes it destroys them by making people change faster than they can keep up with each other, and that's what happened with them (other example; vi and jinx). They're the kind of relationship where you don't even need a goodbye scene, and you know why we never had a real closure for them? because they probably would've never said goodbye to each other. They would've never abandoned each other, and I KNOW that deep down Caitlyn is still that little girl who's waiting for her big brother to come back home and tell her about all his new crazy inventions. dt; @caitlyns._side_piece @cupcaitkes #arcane #arcaneedit #fyp #arcaneleagueoflegends #caitlynkiramman #jaycetalis #Siblings
