I think that the trial could be a highlight of postpartum mental health. However, I don’t think the speculation the legal guilt of any part involved while the trial active is helpful. And the lack of intersectionality of topic is highlighted with this trial.

idk anything about the case you’re talking about, but I do know I was living on campus when the Idaho four were murdered and later when I was working for the school, an English professor had to move apartments because people were sending her death threats based on a fucking tiktok psychic saying she was the killer. Just being proximate to that kind of shit was enough to sour me on most true crime, I can’t imagine being directly impacted by violence and then also having to deal with conspiracy theorists

Usually love your takes but I’ve experienced psychosis myself and the discussion about how we treat people experiencing it is extremely relevant especially because I feel like nobody actually understands what it is and how it alters your brain and why in this context it does legally matter. Not as an excuse but as an explanation or reasoning and to determine where they go after the fact. And how intervention and support systems for mothers (but also people experiencing any form of psychosis) are important. Not to mention the level of reasonable doubt that exists and the things that simply don’t make sense about it. But I’ve been following it pretty closely so idk.

I don’t think Patrick did it but I think there’s enough nuance to this case to understand how this came to be. People don’t trust cops or their investigations. People have experienced mental health negligence. Women healthcare, specifically, is ignored. I’m aware and agree that if this was a POC, it wouldn’t get the media coverage and outrage. And it should. But if we’re gonna talk intersectionality, women ARE an oppressed class. Even white ones, sorry.
