coming to the comments as a former chipotle manager. the kids meals come with only the 3 sides in the entree container. any additional sides in the cups are an extra ~$1.50 each. if you weren't charged that, you got lucky.

They were being nice to you because technically each additional “side” you get is not free. The kids meal comes with 2 sides and additional “salsa” is extra.
