i grew up in a 40-50% black area growing up and we all commented at movies in the theater in our hometown but the first time i went to a “ritzier” theater it was so silent during a SLASHER i got genuinely spooked (not bc of the movie but bc of the ppl)… no one even gasped. i was like tf is going on???
