Dear Mr. President,
My name is Kalema Charles, and I am originally from Uganda. I am writing to you today with great respect to bring your attention to the severe political situation affecting the people of Uganda.
Under the current rule of President Yoweri Museveni and his son, Muhoozi Kainerugaba, conditions for everyday citizens have deteriorated significantly. Millions of Ugandans have rejected their leadership in elections from 2016 through 2026, yet they continue to maintain control over the country through armed force and absolute power.
The people of Uganda overwhelmingly voted for change, casting their ballots for Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu (popularly known as Bobi Wine). Following that election victory, his life was placed in immediate danger, forcing him to seek safety.
With all due respect, I am writing to urge your administration to take diplomatic action and support the democratic movement in Uganda. The Ugandan people deserve free leadership, democratic integrity, and an end to authoritarian rule.
Thank you for your leadership and for standing for freedom and democracy worldwide. For God and My Country.
Sincerely,
Kalema Charles
Ugandan Citizen in Exile
