Lindsay Ellis just uploaded a video about Dolly Parton and why she is beloved by both people on the left and right. Dolly was able to present as someone who stayed out of politics but be able to do great philanthropy and still care for the marginalized. She didn't always take hard stances, but that allowed her to do work behind the scenes that helped tons of people.
