Just wanna add: In the cargos, people often had to stand on dead bodies, because people would die of exhaustion. And in the chamber it wouldn’t get blurry, you wouldn’t get tired. You would suffocate. Gasping for air. Your body does not know what happens and is in panic mode. It was painful and not „blurry“ or „tiring“.

Yeah it wasnt like that, people werent getting "very blurry" and "very tired", zyklon b didnt work like that, it was a death in agony, they could normally breathe air in and out of their lungs but it wouldnt actually let the oxygen be absorbed, they were suffocated alive.

Horrible. My family got out on Colombian visas they were from Warsaw. Papas family mainly ended up in Treblinka. No one came back from Treblinka.

My gf is a Muslim from Kosovo. Serbian soldiers busted down the door to their home and told them it was no longer theirs. They then put them in queue for trains and buses, where some were unalived and thrown in mass graves. Many have never been found. She and her family were interned. One father had his eyes pulled out in front of his family and her. The soldiers told her they’d unalive her parents in front of her. The first camp was just a field. No tents or buildings. It rained incessantly. Wild animals would approach at night. The second camp added tents in the mud. Food was always scarce. She hated what happened in Germany. She’s been to Anne Frank’s house. She also hates what is happening in Gaza and Ukraine right now. When Russia invaded Ukraine, a news reporter said Putin wanted to conquer Ukraine. She said “He doesn’t want to conquer them. He wants to eradicate them.”. We need more love for one another, not all this hate and destruction.

i visited Dachau, Germany in 2023 with my school in a group of about 30 people. here's the "work makes [you] free" gate. there was an immediate shift in energy upon entering. it felt really heavy, and the bus ride afterwards was quiet. it was just sad and draining, but honestly, it was a good experience and one that's very important to me.
