Trauma Recovery Centers (TRCs), as defined by the National Alliance for Trauma Recovery Centers, are evidence-based, multidisciplinary programs designed to provide comprehensive care for survivors of violent crime. TRCs remove barriers to healing by offering trauma-informed mental health services, case management, legal advocacy, crisis intervention, and coordinated support, regardless of a survivor’s ability to pay. The VIP TRC is tailored specifically to serve the Hampton Roads community. We serve individuals impacted by community violence, peer-to-peer violence, violent crimes, human trafficking, and police brutality. But we don’t just provide therapy , we built a survivor-led violence intervention ecosystem. Under one roof, VIP TRC includes:
• Victim services & legal advocacy
• Counseling, peer support & crisis stabilization
• Physical therapy, pain management & wound care
• Workforce development & job placement
• Youth violence prevention & after-school programs
• A crisis hotline
• Food pantry & clothing closet
• Music studio, creative suites & entrepreneurship workshops
• East End Café Express & BuyBackTheBlock social enterprise We move survivors from crisis → stabilization → recovery → economic mobility → leadership.
