Do you think the DSA wave will be hitting San Francisco soon? Or is the city just not what we picture it to be on the east coast?

I find it odd that democratic socialism is being touted. Obviously the right wing is off the rails awful. But normal, bog standard, boring, nordic-style social democrats would be _fine_, would be an enormous step forward, and would not be as risky as this democratic socialism overreach

SF would be one of the easiest cities in the country to take and hold from the fascists. It's so small and defensible

also there is a whole "local" media infrastructure set up to ask questions like, "are millionaire/billionaire taxes bad?" I live in Seattle and all our media is just propaganda machines for the ultra rich. and it's effective which is frustrating.

This is truly an uneducated take. Interest rates spiked in the last couple years so housing STARTS plummeted. COVID also decimated the population growth in SF. Add to had inflation. It didn't have anything to do with who the district supervisor was. City policy DOES affect housing, but the effects are felt about 5-10 years later since it takes 4-8 years to get housing built in SF. Policy changes today will mean housing effects in 2030 and beyond

"Thoughtless sycophant" really sums up the average sf tech worker. Neck deep in boot thinking the pro-business policies and villification of poor & bipoc ppl will make their lives more ✨aesthetic✨; Millions in city resources wasted attempting to hide the visible consequences of class inequality through violence. Let's go San Francisco!!!
