@sweetfiber: We’ve been taught that fat loss is simply: **Eat less → move more → lose weight.** But insulin matters because it helps determine **where your body is putting the energy you eat.** When insulin is chronically elevated, your body can have a harder time accessing stored fat for fuel—and you may notice more hunger, cravings, and that constant feeling of thinking about food. So you can be eating “less” and still feel **absolutely miserable trying to stick to it.** That’s why I stopped focusing solely on cutting calories and started focusing on the things that help improve **insulin sensitivity**: → Prioritizing protein → Getting plenty of fiber → Eating fewer ultra-processed carbs → Walking after meals → Strength training → Giving insulin breaks through strategic meal timing **Calories still matter. But if you’re constantly hungry, craving food, and struggling to stick to every plan you try… don’t just blame your willpower.** Start asking a better question: **“What is my insulin doing?”**
