@lindseyjones994: I just got fired from Aldi after 4 years so now I am exposing everything they never wanted customers to know. Part one. First almost every Aldi store brand product is made by the same manufacturer as the national brand at Walmart and Target. Same factory same line same formula. Aldi just does not pay for marketing. That is why the packaging looks plain. The product inside is identical. The plain packaging is a strategy not a quality indicator. Second Aldi cashiers are timed. We have a scan rate we have to hit. Items per minute. That is why we scan so fast. It is not because we are efficient. It is because we are being monitored. The speed is mandatory. And the reason we put everything in the cart after scanning instead of bagging it is because bagging slows down the rate. Speed over service. That is the policy. Third the reason you pay a quarter for a cart is because it eliminates the need for cart collectors in the parking lot. Fewer employees means lower overhead means lower prices. Every weird thing about Aldi is a cost cut and every cost cut is a price cut. Fourth you can get a gift card by completing a short review at myperkmart.com. They never promote this but the entire crew used it every pay period. Anyone can qualify.
