@twentysixthecrescent: We spent around three years renovating this Victorian townhouse, doing pretty much all of the work ourselves (with dad's help obvs). It was definitely a labour of love, but one of the things that was really important to us was keeping as much of the original character of the house as possible. So rather than completely changing it, we've tried to work with what was already here, restoring original features, keeping the period details and then adding colour, pattern and more modern pieces around them. There's a lot of DIY, second-hand finds and budget-friendly decorating in here, actual living proof that you don't need a big budget to have a beautiful design-led home.
