@cbsnews: Tropical Storm Dolly formed in the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday, becoming the fourth named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season. The storm was about 1,555 miles east of the Leeward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 40 mph. Although Dolly could bring heavy rain and flash flooding to the Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola, the National Hurricane Center expects it to weaken into a tropical wave before reaching the Leewards, likely Saturday. Dolly follows Arthur, Bertha and Cristobal as the fourth named Atlantic storm of the year. The season, which runs through November, has been quieter than usual, as meteorologists predicted due to a deepening El Niño in the Pacific. The storm formed days after country music star Dolly Parton's death at 80, though storm names are chosen six years in advance by the World Meteorological Organization and assigned alphabetically.
