Also I said “loving someone with bipolar disorder is one of the hardest things you can do” but you will find someone who think it’s effortless

This literally reminded me of Hughie reading medical & psychological books to understand bipolar disorder for Lizzie. I’m so glad you and Jack found each other and he’s there for you ❤️🩹

The love of my life has PTSD and I wouldn’t give up a life with him for anything in the world. Loving him is the greatest gift I have ever been given. Loving him is the most beautiful thing I have ever had the privilege of doing

not bipolar, but i have borderline personality disorder, and I will never forget talking to my bf (newly together at this point) and he told me he was reading up on my BPD. I will never forget the way that made me feel, to know he cared enough to research my mental disorder so he could try to understand. I'd been in relationships where they couldn't even remember my diagnosis after years together. I'd spent years thinking I wasn't worth that level of care... the people who truly love you, will love you outloud in ways you could never imagine. 💕

The stigma of bipolar is so damaging and often wrong, I admire you so much for being so raw and honest about your experiences with it. Education and compassion is so so important. Sending love ❤️xx

Also being in an abusive relationship for so long made it so hard to believe any of this but I promise it’s possible

I think when someone is as self aware as you are about your condition it's easier for others to be understanding and patient.
With someone who does not have it under control or who denies help and support and refuses to go to therapy it's a lot harder to manage a relationship.
My husbands brother is struggling with what I suspect is bipolar disorder but he just doesn't want to talk about it. So he gets angry with his family for trying to guide him to the help that he desparately needs.

I felt this to the depths of my soul. I have worked so hard to not lash out with people. Bipolar 1 here. No meds and no therapy. But I am so intentional with what I watch, what I read and the way I act. It’s hard but I’ve been on my A-Game for years. I’m so proud of you and myself.

Girl I was crying at the end with you 🖤 I was recently diagnosed with bipolar after having my first manic episode that lasted over a week. I’ve felt so lonely and ashamed- I didn’t know you also struggled with this. I’m so happy you’re talking about it. It makes me feel less lonely

My husband is bipolar 2 and when we were dating he was like “hey sooooo no offense but I think you might also be bipolar??” Well he was right. And now 13 years later, we balance each other. We say “I’m having a low day” and the other just understands and fills in the gaps 🤍

Please do talk about it more, its so so so validating to hear people talk about something that affects so many people, me included, it makes us feel less alone, especially when personality disorders are considered ‘taboo’ in many societies, seeing people talk about something that i also go through brings awareness to people who dont have it and help them understand us, and it gives us a space to freely talk about it
