For me, I think the community should be strong enough to be gentle for any new VA for Optimus. I understand the impact he had, understand the pain we all are going through with these news. Yet we shouldn’t outright reject any new face that comes into this franchise, out of defensive retaliation. It creates a toxic space in the fandom, and we have an example of that with Mick Gordon’s departure from DOOM. Why I think “be strong enough to be gentle” fits now than ever in consideration for what’s to come in the future, Paramount has a set plan for TF projects, just have to let his image live on that way and be gentle with whomever takes the role.

I found out about his passing at 5:30 in morning, after reading it I just started to cry. It has been the most terrible/devastating thing knowing that I’ll never get to hear Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime again. Ever since 2007 he has been one of the biggest parts of my childhood, he has and forever will be the voice I hear when I think of Optimus Prime. Words cannot describe how much this hurts and sadden I am that I've lost one of my childhood heroes. Thank you so much Peter Cullen for everything, Till all are one.
