📍 Playa 38 | Playa del Carmen, Mexico 🇲🇽 One of my favorite walks to the beach in Playa del Carmen is from 5th Avenue down Calle 38. 🌿🌴 The entire walk feels like you’re walking through a little tropical tunnel. It’s easily one of the greenest and prettiest streets in Playa, and honestly, this whole area was one of the reasons I fell in love with Playa del Carmen and eventually decided to move here. Right before you reach the beach there’s an OXXO, so you can grab your drinks, water, snacks, ice, whatever you need before heading down. And yes, Playa 38 is a PUBLIC beach with public access, plus there’s parking in the area if you’re driving. For the last few months, this beach looked completely different. A lot of the actual beach area had disappeared and the sargassum was BAD. But recently, the beach has finally started coming back. 🙌🏽🌊 As you can see, the water still has some brown areas right now, but I walked a little farther down the beach and found a pretty clear patch. Hopefully we’re on our way back to that beautiful blue Caribbean water soon. 💙 One thing I really love about Playa 38 is that it’s a social beach. People actually talk to each other here. It has a fun, friendly energy and definitely attracts a younger crowd, especially on the weekends. Just know that Saturdays and Sundays can get PACKED, so if you want it a little quieter, I’d come during the week or earlier in the day.
