Hello, I have a question for Muslims. Why does Allah say in the Qur’an to fight or kill people who do not believe? For example, verses such as Qur’an 9:5 say, “kill the polytheists wherever you find them,” and there are other verses about fighting those who do not believe, such as 9:29 and 2:191. My question is not that I am saying the Qur’an contradicts itself, but rather: why does Allah say this if killing an innocent person is considered one of the greatest sins in Islam? What is the context and meaning behind these verses? Why were Muslims commanded to fight or kill in these situations?
