Handbrake Failed Inspection - Full Repair. • In this video, we diagnose and fix a weak parking brake on a 2021 Peugeot Boxer. The owner reported that the handbrake barely holds the vehicle. During the inspection, it became clear that the parking brake was rarely used - the vehicle was usually secured by leaving it in gear. As a result, the parking brake failed to meet the required braking force during the technical inspection. • The rear brake setup on these vehicles is a combined system: disc brakes for service braking and drum-type parking brake shoes located inside the brake disc. While the external condition of the discs and pads appeared acceptable, disassembly revealed severe wear on the internal drum surface and parking brake shoes. In such cases, there are two options: machine the inner drum surface and replace the parking brake shoes, or replace all components as a complete set. • In this repair, we chose the second option - replacing the rear brake discs, rear brake pads, and parking brake shoes. The video shows the entire process from diagnosis to installation and proper parking brake adjustment.
