Firstly, I’ve written a very simple tomato and basil pasta sauce recipe below and as I mentioned ideally we make our pasta sauces from scratch - but I’m always getting requests about pasta sauces so when I spotted this new range of sauces in Tesco I had to highlight it! 🙌 I love seeing sauces made with only Extra Virgin Olive Oil as it is SO rare in supermarket sauces! And it’s not even just olive oil but extra virgin olive oil which is the least processed form of olive oil And due to this it retains its natural antioxidants and nutrients, which are often lost during processing. As I always say if we can find a convenience food that contains only ingredients we could have in our own kitchen and make it ourselves then we’re doing well! These pasta sauces are like that 👍 with no unnecessary additives and also no added sugar which you’d often see in tomato pasta sauces! Have you tried these sauces yet? I’d love to know what they’re like if so 👇❤️ 📖👉 Easy tomato & basil sauce recipe from my cookbook Sophie Kooks: 1. Heat a lug of olive oil in a saucepan. Once hot, add 1 chopped red onion and cook for 5 mins until softened but not browned. Add 2 crushed garlic cloves and fry for a further minute 2. Add 1 tin of tomatoes and season with sea salt and black pepper. Stir and turn the heat down to low. Simmer gently for about 20 mins, add a handful of basil leaves and stir 3. if you’d like a smooth consistency - Blitz using a blender or hand blender #nutrition #ultraprocessedfoods #readlabels #foodlabels
