There is such a thing as personal luck. There are people with degrees and years of experience unable to land new jobs, there are also people with no formal credentials but with skills who have been able to land jobs.

Same, man. I have no degree at all, and I'm an ISSO for the Air Force. All I have are certifications and my clearance. It does help that I had experience as a system administrator. People kept trying to tell me I needed a degree, but I just haven't hit a wall I can't get through without a cert and some core foundational knowledge.

I dropped out of college at 39 credit hours (foolish I know) and years later went after my CompTIA trifecta certs. I just this year broke into IT. Help desk 2 specialist. Wanna move towards cloud hopefully soon! Got my az900 recently.

Ppl do gatekeep but bro let’s not act like tech is swimming with ppl filled with no degrees n zero certs like bffr. No recruiters are seeing that shi and sliding in your DMs unless yo resume/portfolio crazy. U need to put in the work. Idk why folks wanna try n do this shi the easy way. Some certs or education is going to be necessary for tech bro. I’m telling u rn. Regardless of where you are rn. You will be stuck at a certain point bc u have Zero certs or a degree n that’s the 100% truth.
