I heard a classmate talking about how hes disturbed the professor brought up ai data centers and elections etc. In a politics class. a political theory class. and hes disturbed and surprised that theres politics. 💀

was talking to a guy in my class on the first day and had to explain why AI is bad for the environment 😭 and then threw his hands up when the professor said we couldn't use AI on our first assignment. the class is human-environment geography and the assignment was about how AI data centers being built in our state/city are using up so much water and polluting the air.

It’s seeping into graduate programs too. My husband did a masters in educational leadership (these are teachers essentially trying to become principals and upper admin) and he was the BEST student because he was the only one who 1. Read the assignments and 2. Turned them in on time. TEACHERS.

I once had a group project (in a Master's Program, btw) where this one guy kept asking if he could use AI to code his part. We told him the syllabus clearly says no. He then gave us clearly AI-generated code that didn't compile, and proceeded to be "on vacation" for the remaining 7 weeks of the project

I go to a community college and I never realized how badly some people were parented. Not even kids being bad or anything, but severe learning disabilities that were NEVER addressed. People with no ability to read a room, or pickup social cues. And yes, I 100% understand autism and we should be very understanding. But ENTIRE groups of kids with no spatial awareness. It’s exhausting

Guy asked if he was allowed to work ahead after syllabus was read aloud. Professors says no. He says he prefers to work ahead. Professors specifically says not to. Next lecture he asks if it’s okay if he does assignments ahead… Professor says no. Class of 20 btw
