Having grown up in the Appalachian mountains, I can attest that Dolly is truly the best of this region. The expectations of entertainers to delineate their every ideological position has been a worrying reality of American culture. Dolly truly understood how to use her role as an entertainer and it is because of her role as an apolitical figure that makes her convictions so much more influential. If she had aligned her positions with a political group, the willingness for Americans to process her views on equality, poverty, compassionate Christianity, etc. wouldn’t have been so influential. God bless Dolly. :)

I don’t think it’s about letting celebrities be universally loved but I think there aren’t celebrities who give back as much as she did during her life time. Celebrities want to receive the universal love without the work or are focused on money but consumers/fans can sense it. Dolly spent a lifetime taking care of others to where she earned that universal love but it takes work and time. Two things I feel like modern celebrities aren’t willing to do.
