People don’t understand how important this is, my first cat was properly desensitized and he’s a bless to clean and groom. I recently adopted a new cat she’s 3 years old and I don’t know what her previous family was doing but she barley lets me pick her up and she’s so difficult to clean I hope I can still desensitize her

I was trying to desensitize our two Maine Coon cats when they were still little. my family decided that I was abusing them and forbid it. well... now we have two giant cats who fight when you try to brush them, fight when you try to pet them, and just fight whatever you're trying to do. great. good luck seeing a vet, what can I say. for the record, I wasn't abusing them. I was touching their ears, paws and all that. there wasn't the "rough petting" part. but for my family I was evil
