I was trying to desensitize our two Maine Coon cats when they were still little. my family decided that I was abusing them and forbid it. well... now we have two giant cats who fight when you try to brush them, fight when you try to pet them, and just fight whatever you're trying to do. great. good luck seeing a vet, what can I say. for the record, I wasn't abusing them. I was touching their ears, paws and all that. there wasn't the "rough petting" part. but for my family I was evil
