@drjoedamiani: 🔥 Diaphragm feeling tight? Try this release. Your diaphragm isn’t just involved in breathing — it’s a large muscle that attaches around your lower rib cage and spine, contracting and relaxing with every breath you take. If the area feels restricted, this technique combines breathing + gentle manual pressure to work into the tissues underneath the ribs. 💡 Here’s how to do it: 1️⃣ Find the rib cage Wrap your fingers around the bottom of your ribs and gently angle them underneath the rib margin. 2️⃣ Take a deep breath in As you inhale, you may feel the diaphragm and abdominal contents create pressure against your fingers. 3️⃣ Exhale + maintain pressure As you slowly breathe out, maintain gentle upward pressure and allow your fingers to move slightly farther underneath the ribs as tolerated. 4️⃣ Add the stretch At the end of the exhale, gently hook onto the rib cage and pull upward. Hold briefly, release, and repeat. ⚠️ This area can be sensitive, but sharp or significant pain is a reason to stop rather than push deeper. You don't need extreme pressure to make the technique effective. The goal is to gradually improve comfort and movement around the diaphragm and lower rib cage, not force your way through the restriction. #Diaphragm #DiaphragmRelease #Breathing #RibMobility #Mobility
