@drmorgancutlip: 🙋♀️ Raise your hand if you had a whole vision of the parent you'd be before you ever became one. Mine was detailed. I knew how patient I'd be, how naturally it would come, how I'd handle the hard moments without losing my cool. I had opinions about all of it. And then I found out something nobody warns you about: you don't get to pick who your kid is. Their temperament, their wiring, how much they need from you on any given day. That's already decided. Your job is to meet the actual child in front of you, not the one you imagined. 😮💨 It took me way too long to stop treating that gap like proof I was doing it wrong. I wasn't failing. I was just holding myself to a picture that was never going to survive contact with a real, complicated little human. And once I let that picture go, I could finally see what was actually happening in front of me. That's the whole heart of why I partnered with @Similac US on Love Without Measure. Not the tidy version of parenthood we perform online. The one where some days are magic and some days you're just trying to get everyone fed and to bed. Both count. Both are the job. 💬 So tell me in the comments: what's one thing about motherhood you wish someone had been honest with you about before you got here?
