The older generations also do not understand the impact. Yes, they’re still living in the current economy with everything skyrocketing. But that’s an entirely different ballpark when you’re already established. You know how easy it is to go bankrupt in monopoly when you only own one or two properties and are constantly landing on ones with hotels? At that point it’s almost impossible to keep playing. Compared to landing on a spot with a hotel, yeah that’ll suck paying out, but you also have a hotel or two yourself, so you’ll still be okay.

I'd even argue Gen Z's current epidemic of conservative thinking and purity culture is due to financial hardship. When you own nothing and can never gain anything, perceived social capital becomes almost sacred. Add on top of that the personal experience of algorithms. The youngest members of Gen Z have never known a world without mass surveillance and algorithms catered to them. the older generations are also taking entry level jobs!!!! retiring age has been pushed back, so even for entry level positions, gen z is competing against people with 20+ extra years on their resume. almost 80% of hiring managers said they’ve seen a huge increase in older candidates applying for and securing what were previously entry level jobs!!!!!!!!!!!
