@bendztv3: MALI’S LEGACY LIVES ON 🐘 Mali, once the Philippines’ only elephant, is now honored in a new exhibition at the National Museum of Natural History, featuring her taxidermied remains. The exhibition was formally opened on Thursday, with Mali becoming the latest addition to the museum’s collection of preserved animal remains, which includes Lolong, the world’s largest saltwater crocodile in captivity. Originally named Vishwa Ma’ali, Mali was gifted by Sri Lanka to the Philippines in 1981 and spent most of her life at Manila Zoo, where she became a subject of concern among animal welfare advocates.
