Every time i see good twin parenting I think of two girls I did theater with in school. They were identical twins, had almost identical names, in all the same classes, their mom forced them to wear matching outfits every day, they even had to share roles and take turns who got to play each scene because their mom was friends with the teacher. They hated each other 😬

There were a pair of boy/girl twins at my school growing up and I never realized until like 4 years in bc they were so independent. I went to one’s house and was like “why is soandso here??!!”

Sooo this was actually a requirement in my school district. My twin and I were not allowed to be in the same classes unless it was absolutely necessary. All the way up to high school.

People get so used to seeing twins as a unit that they forget they have to develop themselves as separate people. Sometimes twins get so used to being together that they become unhealthy codependent.

Me and my twin hated each other up in till hs because we were always forced together and compared. It wasn’t until we started hs and became separate people and now were 24 and best friends.

I gotta say as a twin, my mom separated me and my twin sister when we first started school cause all we would do is fight.. and now we are in our senior year of high school and absolute best friends. Sometimes a little bit of separation will make you realize how much you actually need someone in your life. 🤷♀️

my FYP is filled with 'twins' content. Thank God I finished my period yesterday. otherwise I would I have thought the universe is trying to tell me I have twins in the oven😅

In school I was friends with a set of twins that never got split up. They shared a bedroom until they graduated high school and went to different colleges, at which point neither of them could figure out who they were when they were on their own.

I went to middle school with fraternal twins and i admired how they lived. One was in theater the other was in football. They had their own friend groups and lives.

i’m a twin and live in the uk. when we got to about 8 the school asked my mum if it was okay for them to put us in different classes from now on. they typically push for that unless the kids really won’t cope without each other

Idk why parents don’t separate them. We have a lot of twins at my site in same class and they’re the ones who are least social, with anyone even adults

My mom was set on keeping me and my twin together for all of elementary school and it made my sister very codependent on me, we had the same friends our whole life up until high school. She also used to harass me in class; pulling my hair, pushing me to the ground, etc, which would promptly get ignored by teachers because it was an "at home problem". Having siblings in the same class is not a good idea and it could lead to your kid being bullied.

Our teachers also encouraged us to be together because they thought it was “cute”. Our parents said hell no. And I know twins are cool and fascinating but at a point we felt like a freak show at the circus💀 beings twins brings a lot of attention. Negative and positive unfortunately.
