Personally I wouldn't go for a blind box, I feel like everything these days is a blind box or gatcha and I'm kinda over it haha. That said I'd probably one of the plain ones if it was sold as is!

My thoughts are that blind boxes are hyper-consumerist trash. If your goal is to make your products more financially accessible to everyone than I literally have no idea how blind box items (where the customer has to potentially purchase more and more to get what they actually want) would help achieve that. These aren’t Labubus.

Definitely do a mystery box. Mystery box items seem to be very successful. Also, from a business student, why do we need these? When you figure that out, markets will be easier. Tell people why they need them. Good luck.
