polyester can be made poorly and cheaply but the same applies to cotton and more expensive fabrics. it depends on the fiber blend and the overall production and material quality rather than just what percentage of material. that’s why clothing tags don’t necessarily always give enough information to determine good quality and only someone with a good eye for it might see in the store when something that sounds good in theory is actually just fluff
