I’m from the UK. The first time I went in a Walmart was in LA, they had a counter with guns for sale. Not a separate room, not even as secure as one of our tobacco kiosks. Just a counter, with all manner of firearms behind it and no one manning it. Diabolical.

The coin isn't because of stealing, it's because they want you to return the cart in its proper place and people want their coin back so they comply. I see lots of vids of Americans just abandoning the cart in the middle of the parking, so maybe they need the coin too
