that SUCKS. i know it does fix anything now but I switched to Obsidian years ago, it continuously saves and keeps version history so you can go back and look at changes just know, obsidian is a rabbit hole and has tons of features and addons, don't get lost.

As an IT expert I can tell you yes, it’s happened to me. Some 30 years ago back when I started out. That’s when I leaned (the hard way admittedly) to always, always, always save your work. Here’s a tip for saving important data (like books, papers, medical info, income tax, pics and videos etc). Buy a NAS device with multiple hard drives configured in a redundant RAID and use that to store all your important data
