💧📍LEWIS FALLS — AZUSA, CA 🌿 A hidden waterfall adventure in the Angeles National Forest that’s surprisingly close to LA. 👀 Save this one for your next hike! 📍 HOW TO GET THERE Search “Lewis Falls Parking, Azusa, CA” on Google Maps. The trailhead is along Highway 39 / San Gabriel Canyon Road and can be easy to miss. 🚗 PARKING There is no designated parking lot for Lewis Falls. You’ll need to park along the roadside near the trailhead. ⚠️ Be very careful when parking and getting out of your car because Highway 39 has curves and limited visibility. Look for a safe spot and watch for traffic. 🥾 THE HIKE • 0.8 miles round trip • 331 ft elevation gain • Under 1 hour • Moderate difficulty • Out & back trail 🌊 WHAT TO EXPECT The trail follows the creek and gets more rugged toward the waterfall. Expect rocks, boulders, creek crossings, uneven terrain and some scrambling. Fallen trees can also make the trail more challenging, especially after rain. 🎨 TRAIL TIP The trail is not well marked. During our visit, we noticed some cute graffiti/art along the route that helped us recognize the path. ❤️🎨 📱 USE @alltrails I recommend downloading the AllTrails app and saving an offline map before you go. Cell service can be limited, and having your route available offline is helpful. 💦 WATERFALL SEASON Lewis Falls is a seasonal waterfall, so the amount of water depends on rainfall and the time of year. It’s generally most impressive after winter rains and in spring. 🥾 TIP: Wear shoes with good traction and be careful around the creek, rocks and slippery areas, especially after rain. ✨ A short hike, a little adventure, and a beautiful waterfall at the end! 💾 SAVE THIS SPOT FOR YOUR NEXT ADVENTURE! 🌿 FOLLOW FOR MORE HIDDEN GEMS & CALIFORNIA ADVENTURES #LewisFalls #AzusaCA #AngelesNationalForest #SoCalHiking #CaliforniaWaterfalls
