Roman Catholic church is weird, on one hand they have that infamous history about persecuting scientists for their ideas, thus they are trying sort of compensate and be progressive - the church is pro evolution and vaccines, on the other hand their stance on contraceptives, including condoms, especially in the context of AIDS, is just awful.

The Catholics know they cannot afford to lose one potential adult Catholic. Keep them kids vaccinated. Keep them alive to carry on the faith! Good Catholic mentality, good for them! Speaking as a former catholic! now I’m thinking of going back to the Catholic Church! Once a catholic always a Catholic, so gotta keep them alive and well so even if they do leave the church, maybe they’ll come back when they’re old! 😂
