Marriage can offer a man companionship, emotional support, family, partnership, shared responsibilities, intimacy, and someone to build a life with. But it’s also fair to ask what each person is actually bringing into the marriage. A healthy marriage shouldn’t be about keeping score or asking, “What can I get from you?” It should be about whether two people genuinely make each other’s lives better. So let’s have the conversation without attacking either side: What do you think a man gains from marriage that he can’t realistically have outside marriage?
