My wife was in the nicu and she said the nurses on staff were freaking out. As soon as it happened the charge nurse started yelling “Check your babies!” As some were on ventilators. Also it gets crazy dark in there.

I work in the kitchen at the hospital it was pitch black. Honestly horrifying. We were the exhaust fans as most things we cook use gas. And people were still calling to order the wildest things lol. Had to tell everyone minimal menu nothing crazy. Hoping everyone on life support and in surgery are okay ❤️

They prepare for situations like this. Things like ventilators in the ICU have 2 methods of backup. Firstly is the hospital generator. If that fails, then it falls back on its own battery backup that can last until the power comes back on or the generator is fixed

They work for essential units, my son is in the Nicu in St George and his power stayed on the whole time
