I gotta say, after this trial and going down the rabbit hole (I’ve never been into true crime) I’ve gained a new respect for defense attorneys. It’s really unfair how the media has always portrayed y’all as slimy and skeevy. And logically, I know there are PLENTY of people who are wrongfully charged with crimes and they need amazing, empathetic, passionate attorneys to fight for them. But I feel like the way we’ve been conditioned to see the criminal justice system doesn’t always leave room for for those grey areas to take into consideration someone else’s trauma, mental health and life experiences. It just an interesting view to open and explore. Thank you for sharing your experience and expertise during this trial.

Oh wow! I am a Reddington fan specifically because of the Therese Rogers case - it is so cool to hear how that work was used by another lawyer down the road. I know it drove progress for abused women but hearing it from a lawyer gives me chills. Thank you for sharing! Side note - it is upsetting to hear a highly educated, professional woman is being called a “fan girl” for appreciating a peer’s work.

I’m from Brockton. Kevin’s office is in Brockton. I have friends he’s represented. And he’s an amazing attorney. Fun fact: reddington represented the mayor of Fall River when he was charged with intimidating a lower level staff member trying to unseat him. Reddington won the case. Few years later the same lower level staff member becomes mayor of fall river. Gets charged with a massive fraud scheme? Guess who he hired to represent him? Kevin reddington. 🤣

I am astounded at how easy he makes it look. To be that sharp and react so quickly, efficiently and communicate succinctly is inspiring. I bet he would make an amazing writer. He chooses his words wisely and I imagine he exhibits many of the qualities that one would like to have as an attorney. He can do theatre, he can do cross, he can do closing arguments, etc. Just awesome to watch as a layperson.

"if you can't see the bigger picture here, I hope that nothing ever happens to you that forces you to do that", i literally thought of that when the prosecution was closing today and almost mocking and downplaying Lindsay's depression and suicide attempts. and i fully, empathetically hoped that life doesnt force her to understand that.

oh fuck yes i am proud to be kevin’s fangirl. he is incredible, his tactics, work ethics, cross and direct skills-they are all great. watching this trial for maybe 2 weeks and how he is as an attorney is one of the reasons i am starting law soon.

A drove of people came after me because I called him papa red 😂 they asked me to look up who he represented in the past to determine ‘the kinda guy I was fan girling over’ My opinions on Kevin are based on how he is presenting the case and highlighting the neglect not only on Lindsay but what a ALOT of woman receive across the world! He representing a woman and her children who were failed beyond all comprehension. He has shown empathy, compassion, sympathy, and an undeniable willingness to truly advocate for all women. I know too well what post partum major depression bordering on psychosis feels like and listening to the CW’s total disregard of Lindsay (yes! I know it’s their job to prosecute) was personal and is personal to a lot of women and is reflective of the care or lack of what Lindsay received.

As a domestic violence survivor... Thank you for supporting her and helping her find some sort of peace from unrelenting, lifelong chaos in a way that she was comfortable with. I don't have a negative view of defense attorneys, per se... Its more like caution on which ones I like. Thats thanks to my ex's defense attorney trying to pin a crime on me that I genuinely did NOT commit to try and keep me off the witness stand. He was facing 70+ years if he was convicted for what he did to me. The defense attorney that redeemed my view on them was the one appointed to me before his trial started. He listened to me, he BELIEVED me, and eventually helped me figure out a solution that still got me justice and personal safety while also making sure I wasn't charged with something I didn't do.

My dad (who didnt really watch the trial) is a former defense attorney and a couple years younger than Reddington. My dad listened to his closing and said that is one bad mofo. I havent seen my dad perk up like that in a while.

Oh he put battered woman in Massachusetts on the map back in the day!!!! I did research a case he did where he successfully defended a women with battered women’s and it was pretty amazing and it is a true cause for him that he is passionate about. He cares deeply. I have so much empathy for your client and the work you did for her!!!! Thank you for her!!!!!

I’ve come to realize that defense attorneys are truly the ones who are able to see people for the complicated mess they are and still stay steady in the face of all the trauma that a lot of people show up with. And they don’t just stay steady, the really find the humanity in themselves to connect with the person they’re representing and that is such an incredibly hard thing to do (spoken from a trauma therapists pov who has fought a lot of battles against attorneys 😅)

Oh my gosh! 💯 it’s not what did you do? It is WHAT happened to you? Worked with many women on probation & so many had complicated & tragic life stories. Empathy is crucial to be effective working with criminally involved people.
