nobody forced him to sign a 6 year contract with a €500m release clause with atletico when he was at city, and what does he do? he comes down with a funeral face every time he steps onto the pitch, you can’t paint atletico as the bad guys in this story when they’re simply demanding respect for the contracts that were agreed upon, barcelona is trying to recreate what they did with sevilla for koundé and with bilbao for nico williams, destroying the player on a media level by leaking his “childhood dreams” and agreements in principle, by doing so creating a rift between the fans of the current club and the player, once he’s destabilized they try to make ridiculous lowball offers, barcelona offered €100m spread over 6 years, basically €16.6m a year compared to the nearly €95m that atletico paid just 2 years ago, you’re painting the wrong team as the bad guys, be more objective instead of pointing the finger at the first victim act
