CM :
I’ve always believed that the entire starwars franchise is not a story of skywalkers but instead of a selfless man who trained a son, who fought for a father, who never knew his own mother, to be betrayed by a brother, who died for a stranger, who lived for a woman that he should have never known. Obiwan, the only starwars story.

Have whatever opinion you want. I will die on this hill. Obi Wan is the single most tragic character in the entire SW universe. Never once did he consider turning to the dark side despite it all.

Luke: “How did my father die?” Obi-Wan: [stares into middle distance] 1977 audience: “He’s remembering an old friend.” 2026 audience: “OH JESUS CHRIST, DON’T ASK HIM THAT.”

I love that Obi-wan doesn’t bring shame to Anakin’s name by saying he turned. He make the dark side of him a whole separate person.

It really makes you appreciate Alec Guinness’s acting too. He had no idea truly how deep the connection was or even what the future of Star Wars would really be like. Yet, he portrayed it perfectly.

This may be the most poetic thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I never connected the dots and saw it from this view. Absolute cinema 🤌🏽
