You should learn some scales that use every finger or chords so when you’re building your callouses they are even for each finger causing it to hurt less when you play a huge note

The way I learned finger placements is put pieces of tape on the strings where you want to hit and then play it over and over and over with the amp off while looking at you fingers . Once you play a few times while looking at were you want to be with the tape. Then quit looking at it and use the feel tape as a reference without looking . Do that over and over and over and over and over again. Once you get tired of it keep doing it lol. The time is takes for it to be muscle memory varies from person to person, but once you can remember it without looking , turn the amp on and take the tape off and see what happens.
