What’s the difference between your inspection and the health departments inspection for a rental property? I had an inspector say they came out and completed an inspection but lied. When the supervisor sent this person back out, they totally disregarded my stove’s electrical outlet is laying behind the stove out of the wall, and it’s literally melted. Stove clock is flickering and the refrigerator is leaking right next to it. Pretended not to see it when I kept pointing it out. You can also see the floor damage. Outlets are shocking me and this person is like o’well, my tester lit up green…

I think a distinction should be made that this a REAL ESTATE HOME INSPECTION which differs entirely from an actual code inspection. Whenever year that house was built we surely know didn’t fall under the build codes that enforced for today. Codes in place today did not apply to this home. I think it’s a disservice to buyers or sellers to not inform them of this. The gfci not required then, though for safety sure should be changed. Yes I’m very familiar with inspection process in MD. Homes real estate inspectors don’t have the in depth qualifications as code inspectors, what is it a couple hours of class time, maybe 30-50 hours?

You could use a drone to inspect the roof rather than climbing the ladder and trying to inspect from a distance
