BACK TO REALITY: From Concept to Look — A Short Documentary by LAJU. What began with a casual compliment from @faisalsfocus at the @StreetSouk💚 UNILAG event in May became a collaboration to bring BACK TO REALITY to life. In this short documentary, I take you through my journey as the Stylist and Art Director for the project, from the initial concept and moodboards to sketching, sourcing, set design, and the creative process that shaped the final look. I also shared how I used word mapping, a technique I learnt in 2020 from one of @James Martin logo courses, to break down the brief, develop visual collages on @pinterest , and organize my ideas through @Milanote Books, documentaries, and fashion research also helped in broadening my knowledge for this project, including Self Styled by @anthonylycettphotography , Fluid: A Fashion Revolution by Harris Reed , and Martin Margiela’s documentary. These references, alongside my sketches, research, and process, all contributed to the final look. This is my way of showing that fashion storytelling begins long before the camera starts shooting.
