If you're building my house, and break a truss like that, youre gonna need to order a new one. I wouldnt be accepting any repairs. I didnt pay for broken then repaired pieces and parts for my house.

Skilled carpenters can make a repair stronger than what the engineer approves without the engineer being involved. If there wasn’t insurance and liability involved a skilled carpenter would just fix it and it’d be done in 20 minutes instead of waiting days to hear from the engineer.
