assuming people have the reasoning ability necessary to reconcile morality with a lack of free will, the world would become a radically better place if everyone stopped believing in free will. we’d focus more on preventative measures and rehabilitation rather than retributioin terms of crime and in terms of psychology we’d stop blaming people for being lazy/dumb and instead tackle the root issues as for why people are that way

Hiiiii guys determinism and free will are both true at the same time I can choose to eat bread or cheese tonight (technically you cannot objectively say you solely choose this in fact it’s even less likely that YOU choose but it feels nice to think you do) however I can’t in any way decide how my genetics create enzymes and proteins to interact with why I consumed. Either way you always have a choice but you never choose your options. It’s a very difficult idea to grapple with and if you were to ask me personally I’d say we don’t have free will just in the same way the bird doesn’t have free will to escape the predator.
