Tobby wrapped his arms tight around Engfa’s neck and whispered in his loud, babbling voice: "I love Mama..." Engfa nodded, resigned. "Yeah, Daddy gets it..." "...but Daddy’s the favorite!" The whole room exploded. Sonya, the oldest, choked on her drink. "HE PICKED DADDY?!" Becca crossed her arms, pouting. "That’s not fair!" Charlotte narrowed her eyes at her youngest, pretending to be suspicious. "So all those sunglasses and toy cars every Saturday were bribes?" Tobby nodded proudly, zero guilt. "Daddy bought me a red car!" The Engfa who had been deflated a second ago lit up instantly. She grinned at Charlotte, the widest grin ever. "What else, Tobby?" Engfa prompted. "Daddy wears the same clothes as Tobby!" "What else?" "Daddy gives Tobby the highest piggyback rides!" Engfa couldn’t hold in her smugness anymore. She looked at Charlotte with her chest puffed out. "Score’s changed. I win." Charlotte rolled her eyes, but couldn’t hide her grin. "You almost lost again." Sonya looked at her little brother with envy. "I want a matching jacket with Daddy too..." "Me too!" Becca chimed in, not wanting to be left out. Charlotte pretended to pout too. "So Mama only gets flowers? He gets toys every week?" Engfa laughed freely, pulling Tobby in with one arm. "Flowers are because you’re the queen of this house. The toys are just war tactics." Charlotte smiled softly, a faint blush on her cheeks. "Good excuse." Tobby looked at both his sisters innocently. "Don’t be mad, okay?" Becca frowned. "Who’s mad?" "Kak Becca’s jealous," Sonya teased. "I’m jealous too!" Tobby hugged Engfa’s neck even tighter. "Daddy has Tobby." Engfa looked at Charlotte with a glow of victory she’d never forget. "See? Told you three years ago." Charlotte stepped closer and slipped her fingers through Engfa’s free hand. "Finally someone’s on your side." Engfa watched Tobby getting sleepy on her shoulder. "It’s okay." She looked at Charlotte softly, then at Sonya and Becca bickering. "You three have always been my favorites." Charlotte smiled warmly. "Really?" Engfa grinned. "Yeah... I’m just relieved that finally one of you is openly admitting I’m the favorite." The three girls rolled their eyes in perfect sync. On Engfa’s shoulder, Tobby mumbled softly before drifting to sleep. "Daddy’s favorite..." Engfa’s smile widened.
