It’s another conspiracy theory. When traveling to Tibet, tourists are required to be accompanied by a guide because the high altitude can cause altitude sickness, making independent travel difficult. Even Chinese citizens are required to travel with a guide. So how did this get interpreted in the West as being “carefully orchestrated”?

The latest reports from Chinese media say that the rescue team heading towards the Gyirong border had to halt after detecting signs that the massive lake created by the mudslide was showing signs of collapsing. The lake is reportedly holding a volume of water equivalent to roughly two West Lakes.
