@comicgirly7: I find the idea of a character that’s even like C tier popularity being “forced” for getting a run, featured in a show, etc when it comes to stuff like Marvel and DC because like.. it’s comics. Damn near every run has a new character introduced. They aren’t forced for being new, they’d be forced if a mass amount people have already expressed they don’t like a character THEN give them a run or a solo show. I say this even more so for “families” of comic characters, or groups of characters, because most of the time the characters in it were already “forced” to begin with. I make this video because I recently saw a video (it was about Jo Mullien and how they felt it was unrealistic that she ever trusted the justice system) and a comment was saying they felt like she was forced. it makes me mad when i hear that about jo mullein (and it happens often) because it shows they havent read a single comic about her. her debut run is a wonderful story (which i might add was written by a female author who has worked on novels and famous video games, and illustrated by a terribly talented artist and they're both poc, which could mean nothing but im afraid it doesnt mean nothing). sojourner represents a wonderful new take on what it's like to be a green lantern, she's flavorful and nuanced on both the aesthetic and deeper sides. and on top of everything, she's not pushed into a role and forced upon readers because you barely see her. people are just mad a black female character is cool and interesting
