splitting off an item is for when you make a mistake and don’t want it on the check right? If you ring in an extra burger if there’s was a mistake, you can split the burger onto another check so you don’t have to constantly search for a manager to fix your check

I work at a pizzeria with my dad because he owns it and whenever we make breadsticks for tables if it’s a busier day, we’ll call out all day every 10 minutes just to make sure we have the right amount usually it’s between 6 to 12 Bread six and at once

I’m surprised not many young bartenders in the uk know what “in the bin” means. For anyone curious, it means paying for a drink but not immediately pouring it, instead pouring it later. Most of the time it’s used when a group is ordering in rounds but they aren’t all arriving at the same time. The phrase itself would be said after the drink you don’t want now. For example “can I have 2 beers, one in the bin. It’s for my mate, he’s running a bit late.”
