Try filling your tub with hot water and add a few drops of laundry sanitizer, like Lysol. Let it soak for a while then wash it with a enzyme-like detergent.

I usually dry them with the musty smell, air it out for a few hours then wash again

I would try drying them with very scented dryer sheets/fabric softener or something. Sometimes as much as you wash it, it’s more the drying process that gets it out.

You can try getting laundry sanitizer. I use it with my gym and outdoors clothes and seems to work. I forgot who makes it, but it’s a popular laundry brand like Downy, Tide, or something. If all else fails you can always ask ChatGPT what to try next.

I’ve had to cover my clothes in baking soda, scrub that baking soda in, leave for an hour, then add white vinegar, let it soak for as long as possible. You can use a tub, storage container, whatever. It’s worked on my worst gardening clothes. If they’re super bad, might need to do it twice. The trouble with white vinegar in the washer is that it gets diluted, so it’s not going to have a full affect. Hope this helps 🫶🏼

Take the clothes and put them in the washer on hot. But don’t add any soap and add an extra rinse cycle. Sometimes too much laundry soap can add to that musty mildew smell. After that, wash on a normal cycle on hot. Way less soap this time. Half a cup or less. If you can get downy rinse aid (not fabric softener) or that Lysol sanitizer laundry stuff, use that and put it where the softener goes. Same thing with the extra rinse. This might work!
